Depending on the retting, season, and culture, this fabric may have some imperfections (finer or thicker thread, pieces of bark...) that testify to the artisanal and mechanical work from which it comes. Before the first use, it is ideal to soften the linen by letting it soak in cold water for at least 1 hour.
